Article/Martha's Message - November 2007![]() |
M. Copeland - November 2007![]() What is your sign? During our vacations I usually receive a "Sign" from my daughter, Cathy that reminds me that even if she is not with us in the physical world she is still traveling with us in "Spirit." In 2006 we vacationed on a little island of Puerto Rico called "Vieques." One thirsty evening we visited a small watering hole (i.e."Bar") located on the ocean that we discovered was a hang out for many of the island locals. As we walked up to the entrance of the bar my husband noticed that "Big Circle" was etched in dust on one of the front windowpanes. ![]() This year, 2007, we went to a small island known as one of the ABC islands located off of South America called, Bonaire. Every Friday, local artists set up booths in a small downtown park area to sell their crafts to tourists. Walking through the park I was feeling a little let down because our vacation was just about over and I had not received any "Signs" that Cathy was around. My sister, Donna and I noticed a time capsule in the middle of the park and we started looking inside the windows to see what had been stored inside the capsule from the past. My sister, Donna wanted to take a photo of me sitting beside the capsule because she felt I was much older than most of the stuff stored inside. As she was talking, I glanced down at a tile in the parkway behind her and noticed it was painted with a ladybug on it. I had Donna take a photo (below) of me pointing to the ladybug tile because that was the only painted tile we found in the entire park - no turtles, birds, or iguanas. I don't even think that ladybugs are native to Bonaire - this made our discovery even more significant. A warm, glowing and loving feeling seemed to fill me and suddenly I smiled and knew that Cathy was with me. The occasional "Signs" we receive from loved ones from beyond are powerful reminders that our loved ones remain close to us and a part of our life no matter where we are. Below is a photo of me pointing to the ladybug tile in the park. ![]() ![]() Martha Copeland
